Program Note
Beverly Glenn-Copeland is an all-around artist who defies categorization. This is not only because of his vast musical career spanning folk music, jazz, classical music, and electronic music (his 1986 electronic album [Keyboard Fantasies] was reissued in the 2010s), but also because his artistic journey mirrors his life. He grew up as an African-American during the turbulent period of the black human rights movement, and later faced his identity as a lesbian in college and, eventually, as a transgender person. Glenn-Copeland has never abandoned the spirit of adventure that crosses genres and explores new sounds in his quest to “be himself,” as well as the curiosity that keeps him in touch with the younger generation. The film delves into the world of “possibilities” that he has navigated. (NAM Da-eun)

- Three years ago, while building a friendship with Glenn over Skype, Pozie Dixon’s personal passion for documentation grew into her first feature film.
