Program Note

Sakurai Akio dedicated his life to Jimmy Page. For 30 years, he recreated vintage Led Zeppelin concerts in Tokyo clubs until the “real” Jimmy Page walked into the club one night, changing Akio’s life. Inspired by Mr. Page’s ovation, Akio quits his job, leaves his family, and moves to Los Angeles to join *Led Zepagain*. Soon, cultures clash, and Akio’s vision of America confronts the harsh reality.

  • Peter Michael Dowd has served as a film curator at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York and as a programmer at George Eastman House. He has organized retrospectives and exhibition programs for the Vienna International Film Festival and the Mexico City Contemporary Film Festival. Dowd has also contributed articles on film to *The New York Sun* and *Moving Image Quarterly*. *Jimmy Page: The Led Zeppelin Experience* is his most recent work.
