Program Note

The power of memories is strong. Tune in for Love touches the audience with analogue sensibility and popular music in the 1990s. On October 1, 1994, the day when the radio program [Yoo Yeol's Music Album] was first broadcast, Hyun-woo and Mi-su of 20 years old meet for the first time. The stories of the two who repeated meeting and separation due to their own circumstances are piled up with 90’s popular music like memories in an album. The music, that seems to represent the characters' mind, enriches their ordinary romance. A film like a “music album” that conveys the lovers’ hidden heart by borrowing lyrics from sentimental songs, including Fin. K. L, Shin Seung-hoon, Lucid Fall, and Toy. (SONG Kyeong-won)​

  • 정지우 감독은 영화제작소 청년 출신으로 한양대학교 연극영화학과를 졸업했다. 청년에서 만든 <사로>, <생강>이 서울단편영화제에서 수상한 이후 단편영화계의 인기 감독으로 떠올랐다. 이후 2년간의 작업을 거쳐 1999년 장편 <해피 엔드>로 정식 데뷔했다. <해피 엔드>는 제 53회 깐느 영화제 비평가 주간에 공식 초청되었으며 다수의 해외영화제에도 초청되면서 작품성을 인정받았고 흥행에서도 성공을 거뒀다. 2005년 두 번째 장편영화인 <사랑니>를 연출했고, 2008년 ＜모던보이＞를 연출했다.
