Synopsis

After a life as a member of the popular boy band Echinochio, Billy Lozano is now a married man in his late 30s living a boring life in the suburbs. He lives in his dream house, with all the fake comforts he needs, but he's unhappy with his lifestyle. After failing yet again in his last entrepreneurial course, he feels like the world's biggest loser. He doesn't have a job other than taking care of his son and his wife's dog. One day, Monica, a fan of his old band, moves in next door and encourages him to revitalize his artistic career.

Program Note

In his late thirties, married without a remarkable career, Billy finds himself responsible for his young son and tolerating his wife's bothersome pet dog. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when Monica, a devoted fan and her family, moves in next door. Contrary to his outward appearance, the inner turmoil of Billy, always in unrest, is artfully conveyed through evocative sound effects and the cacophony of children and dogs that punctuate the opening scenes. Notably, the film employs a 4:3 aspect ratio, reminiscent of the music videos popular on MTV during the 1990s, as a deliberate artistic choice by the director. (Lim Seaeun)
