Synopsis

Giorgio Portis, the former glory of '60s pop music, retires from singing, refusing to sing songs with sociopolitical content. Forty-six years later, his manager and former partner, Brenda, convinces Giorgio to participate in the “Memories of Today” music festival and convinces him to participate in the “Memories of the Day” music festival as a duet with Gabriel Vesta, who has since become a star. The meeting between these two essentially opposites begins with hatred, but they are soon forced to decide whether to give vent to their need for expression or succumb to the tastes of the audience.

Program Note

Singer Gabriele is presented with a chance to collaborate with his idol, Giorgio. As they enter the recording studio filled with expectations, their collaboration quickly faces the threat of collapse due to Giorgio's uncooperative nature. Amidst their mutual disdain, a shared struggle emerges—they both find themselves unable to authentically express their musical worlds due to the pressures imposed by the industry. While it is disheartening to witness the perpetuation of societal absurdities across generations, the film impressively portrays the characters' longing for creative freedom and their eventual reconciliation.
