Performance Info
The Jecheon International Music & Film Festival held a tribute performance last year through a meeting with the ‘Korean Singer-Songwriter Association,’ honoring Han Dae-soo, Korea’s first hippie and singer-songwriter. This year, as the second project of the tribute performance, many junior singers will share the stage in memory of Kim Jung-ho, who left a significant mark on the Korean music scene through ‘April & May’, ‘The Onions’, and his solo career.
Performing Artists
-
- Kim Hyun-sung
- His music has inspired many other musicians. The songs he released have become treasures to other musicians and reached many people as a quiet yet touching part of life. Yoon Do-hyun, Ahn Chi-hwan, and the late Kim Kwang-seok were among those influenced by him. If they were 'waves,' then Kim Hyun-sung would be the 'origin.' We're curious about Kim Hyun-sung’s story behind “A Letter from a Private,” which he contemplated long before it was sung by Kim Kwang-seok.
-
- Hong Min
- In the 1970s, Myeong-dong and Mugyo-dong were the centers of music cafes. Influenced both naturally and through upbringing by his mother who studied vocal music, Hong Min began his singing career in various music listening rooms, making his low register his main strength. His covers of popular pop songs of the time were well-loved, and especially his rendition of “Farewell,” originally composed by North Italian Martino and rewritten by Lee Jong-hwan, was a hit in the early and mid-70s.
-
- Yang Ha-young
- In the history of Korean music, the 70s and 80s can't be discussed without mentioning Sesibong and Shelbourg. These two venues produced many great musicians. Among them, Yang Ha-young stands out as a legendary figure representing Shelbourg. His pure and emotional voice captures the beauty of his noble character and provides heartfelt comfort to listeners.
-
- Ha Nam-seok
- Musicians who will go down in history must be remembered. The late Kim Jung-ho was a great musician remembered not only by audiences but by all musicians. Among the many who gather to honor him, Ha Nam-seok represents his ‘legacy.’ A vocalist with a beautiful voice, he showed outstanding songwriting skills and released his 14th regular album at the age of 62. What scent of memory does Ha Nam-seok recall from Kim Jung-ho?
-
