Synopsis

[Giselle], the most well-known Romantic ballet, composed by the French composer Adolfe Adam, was premiered in 1841. A village girl Giselle falls in love with Albrecht, disguised as a young country man. Giselle figures out that his fiancée is a princess, then she becomes insane and kills herself. Giselle becomes a fairy that makes young people who come to the forest at night dance until they die. Albrecht visits Giselle’s grave and is captured by fairies.
