Synopsis

Varun Chakrapani (VC), a Squadron Leader in the Indian Air Force, is stationed in Srinagar. Leela Abraham, a bold and beautiful junior doctor, arrives in Srinagar to work at the Government Hospital. They meet when VC is injured, sparking a passionate and tumultuous romance. As border tensions in Kashmir escalate into the Kargil War, Leela decides to walk away from VC’s emotional vulnerability. Their story mirrors the city of Srinagar—visually stunning and seemingly perfect on the surface, yet scarred beneath. The film's music was composed by the Oscar-winning A.R. Rahman.

  • Born in 1955 in Tamil Nadu, India, Mani Ratnam earned his MBA after studying commerce at the University of Madras. His debut film Pallavi Anu Pallavi won the Best Screenplay Award at the Karnataka State Film Awards in 1983. He has received numerous awards at various film festivals throughout his career. His 1998 film Dil Se.. won the Netpac Award for Best Asian Film at the Berlin International Film Festival. Retrospectives of his work have been held at several major international festivals.
