Synopsis
A film about the great thumri singer Siddheshwari Devi (1908–1977). Breaking all conventional modes of biographical or documentary filmmaking, this work becomes one of transgression—transgressing both home and dream. Like a Sufi wanderer, it celebrates a life in exile. This is a film that pushes the concept of "documentary" to its limits, transforming the fictional elements typical of biography into a cinematic presentation, and turning objects and places into an imaginative becoming of music.
