    • Born in London in 1889, Charles Spencer Chaplin began acting at the age of 17 when he joined Fred Karno’s vaudeville troupe, known as the king of the music hall. During a U.S. tour in 1912, he caught the attention of comedy pioneer Mack Sennett and soon relocated to America. In 1914, Chaplin introduced his iconic character, "The Tramp," known for his bowler hat, short trousers, and twirling cane. He went on to create numerous masterpieces, including The Kid, City Lights, and Modern Times.
