Synopsis

In 1971, Bulgaria under the Communist regime, when any religious expression or music from the West is a national threat. Based on a true story, RADIOGRAM follows a father who walks almost 100km to the nearest town, so he can buy a new radio for his rock 'n' roll obsessed son. A feel-good drama about identity, the power of music, and freedom.

  • Ruzhie Hasanova, a Bulgarian-born screenwriter and director, has lived in London since 1998. She studied film at London College of Printing and has directed award-winning short films such as the charity musical Viki and internationally showcased Rootless Tree. RADIOGRAM is her feature debut.
