Program Note

The mid-1990s marked a pivotal moment in the rise of Korean film music, and *Jungle Story* stands at the very heart of that transformation.

The film follows Do-hyeon, a young man who comes to Seoul with nothing but dreams of becoming a rock star. He finds a job at Nagwon Arcade, slowly assembles a band, and rehearses tirelessly for their first live concert. When the long-awaited day arrives, they perform to an empty hall—but it's a moment filled with meaning and passion.

This autobiographical tale of an unknown rock band is ultimately a story about the enduring pursuit of music and identity. The late Shin Hae-cheol, serving as music director, created a timeless soundtrack that captures the spirit of an era and still resonates today.
