Program Note

The Legend Of 1900 is another famous film by Giuseppe Tornatore of Cinema Paradiso. It is a story about a legendary pianist (who remains a legend only) who was born in 1900 as an unknown child on a large ferry between New York and Europe, has not been birth-registered for a lifetime, and has lived only on the ship. The audience can watch the famous piano duel between main character “1900” and Jelly Roll Morton, a real famous jazz pianist, and throughout the film, they can enjoy the beautiful music of Ennio Morricone, who once again worked with director Tornatore after Cinema Paradiso.
